(METUCHEN, NJ) -- Join mignolo for a weeklong journey through artistic mediums October 6-13, 2024 as they celebrate their half-decade anniversary. From original dance performances and theater shows to affordable art sales and an interdisciplinary open mic, there are bound to be events that will entice you to visit them in Metuchen.

mignolo artweek kicks off with International Cultural Da(nce)y on Sunday, October 6 from 3:00pm-5:00pm. Taking place at the Metuchen Plaza, this event brings together local choreographers with expertise in historical and cultural dance practices, as well as a unique collaborative performance integrating tap, Latin ballroom, classical Indian dance, and Yiddish folk dance. This event is free and open to the public, and is sponsored by The Metuchen Arts Council.

The rest of the week takes place at mignolo arts center (272 Lake Avenue) in Metuchen.  Up first is Bollywood Night on Monday, October 7 at 7:00pm. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or have two left feet, this event promises a night of laughter, music, and cultural immersion through Indian dance. This event is free and open to the public.

In the following days, they will host Ferrell Studios: One Act Festival (pay what you can tickets), and mignolo international screendance festival (pay what you can tickets). They’ll close out the work week with To Be Danced, a co-production with ReFrame Dance Theatre, which features local dancers and choreographers performing their original works. These dance performances will take place at 8:00pm on both Friday and Saturday, October 11 and 12 respectively, and tickets are available for purchase online.

One of their most exciting events is Pinky Thinker Press LIVE!, which will run from 12:00pm-4:00pm on Saturday, October 11. Pinky Thinker Press is an interdisciplinary arts publication founded in 2020 under the umbrella of mignolo, and they are excited to build off the success of their first in-person PTP event last year with their second annual gathering. Artists whose work was published in their previous 12 issues are invited to share what they’ve been working on and meet other contributors and attendees. The event is free and there will be art for sale, as well as print copies of the magazine and other merchandise.
