Taylor Simon King returns Aug. 5 to URSB Carteret Performing Arts & Events Center. A celebration of American troubadours James Taylor, Carly Simon and Carole King, the all-star band’s take on “You’re So Vain” is the Makin Waves Song of the Week.

Matching the gorgeous venue URSB Carteret Performing Arts & Events on Aug. 5 will be the repertoire of Taylor Simon King, a celebration of American troubadours James Taylor, Carly Simon and Carole King.

Produced by Oscar-winning songwriter Franke Previte (“Dirty Dancing”) and his talented wife, Lisa Sherman, one of the all-star band’s front folk, the 10-piece ensemble’s take on Simon’s “You’re So Vain” is the Makin Waves Song of the Week.

As the Makin Waves Song of the Week, “You’re So Vain” also can be heard between 6 and 8 p.m. on Aug. 4 on “Radio Jersey” at ThePenguinRocks.com. If you miss it, you can tune in any time in the archives at The Penguin and MixCloud.

The band features new singer James Gedeon, who handles the Taylor tunes. He and Lisa are joined by vocalist-acoustic guitarist Mary McCrink, music director-guitarist Ralph Notaro, guitarist Todd Sherman, his keyboardist son Sam (no relation to Lisa), violinist Gary Oleyar, drummer Lance Hyland Stark, saxophonist-flutist-percussionist Tommy LaBella, and bassist Buddy Allen.
