Asbury Park’s Tide Bends have dropped another nugget onto the music scene.
Their latest single, “Your Story,” is the Makin Waves Song of the Week.
As the Makin Waves Song of the Week, “Your Story” also can be heard between 6 and 8 p.m. on Feb. 24 on “Radio Jersey” at ThePenguinRocks.com. If you miss it, you can tune in any time in the archives at The Penguin or MixCloud.
“We originally tracked ‘Your Story’ in late 2020 at New Future Studios in Belmar,” Tide Bends said. “Paul Ritchie engineered and produced it with us, and we finally mixed the song with Chris Badami at Portrait Studios in April 2022. We've been recording with Paul for a few years now. He's great. He has an amazing ear for how to create space and sound at the same time. Chris is an amazing mixologist and an even better human. He's been a friend for a long time.”
Tide Bends were 2019 Makin Waves Video of the Year Award winners in honor of their trippy animated clip by Andrew Knives for their pop-adelic treat “Keeper.” They recently worked with Andrew again on the just dropped ‘toon for the tune “Medicine Man.”
Tide Bends don’t just have tasty singles and videos for your enjoyment. You can check them out live March 10 at Asbury Lanes opening The Dream of When’s EP release show also with Baron Praxis and Matthew Pelli. They’ll also add greatly to a dynamic bill with Yawn Mower, Reclining Nude, and Tom Barrett on March 30 at Rockwood Music Hall.
