Veterans Day is November 11th, and Taylor Simon King is showering veterans with love with upcoming benefits for them. To celebrate, their cover of James Taylor’s “Shower the People” is the Makin Waves Song of the Week.
Would you like a really great way to honor and support veterans on Veterans Day?
Buy tickets to Taylor Simon King’s Dec. 3 performance at The Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College in the North Branch section of Branchburg here. TSK, a celebration of American troubadours James Taylor, Carly Simon and Carole King, will be showering veterans with love by benefitting Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, as well as the RVCC Foundation.
Their fifth sold-out show on Veterans Day at The Vogel in Red Bank also will benefit veterans. In salute to those efforts, TSK’s cover of James Taylor’s “Shower the People” is the Makin Waves Song of the Week.
As the Makin Waves Song of the Week, “Shower the People” also can be heard between 6 and 8 p.m. on Nov. 10 on “Radio Jersey” at ThePenguinRocks.com. If you miss it, you can tune in any time in the archives at The Penguin and MixCloud.
The RVCC show also is a salute to Gold Star Families, which assists those grieving any military loss through active duty service, including all family members representing all conflicts, all branches of service, and all circumstances of death.
The show is co-presented by Bridging the Gap, a veterans job placement program, and At Ease Foundation, a nonprofit that raises money for veterans and veterans programs with special events.
TSK co-founding, co-producing front woman Lisa Sherman also is keeping busy this holiday season with Disco Connection, her fun-filled nod to the disco era, which will perform Nov. 25 at the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park. Tickets to that show are available here.
