The New Bardots’ new 14-song album, “Turn Your Head and Cough,” on Bongo Boy Records features their latest single.
Their cover of Depeche Mode’s 1990 hit “Policy of Truth” also is the band’s latest video and the Makin Waves Song of the Week.
As the Makin Waves Song of the Week, “Policy of Truth” also can be heard between 6 and 8 p.m. on July 21 on “Radio Jersey” at ThePenguinRocks.com. If you miss it, you can tune in any time in the archives at The Penguin and Mixcloud.
The New Bardots said they had fun recording the EDM classic, especially keyboardist John Croot.
The band — also guitarist Gar Francis, bassist Dan Skye, drummer Johnnie Rago, and lead vocalist Wayne Olivieri — will play several of the songs off “Turn Your Head and Cough” on Aug. 26 at New Brunswick Performing Arts Center. They’ll participate in Concert for the Animals, a benefit for the Plainfield Area Humane Society and No Kill Shelter.
Also on the bill will be longtime Hub City faves The Grip Weeds and Leather Catsuit, a group of veteran rockers led by Kim Olin. The $35 tickets to the show, which will include a cash bar, as well as a 50/50 to further support the charity, are available at https://secure.nbpac.org/fortheanimals
