Baron Praxis have weathered the storm of the pandemic and continue to be makin waves with a new lineup featuring two new smokin’ guitarists.

To celebrate the new band, they will release on May 30 “Ecocidal”, an EP of five re-recorded tunes that includes the environmental-minded “Nice to Meat You,” the Makin Waves Song of the Week.

As the Makin Waves Song of the Week, “Nice to Meat You” also can be heard between 6 and 8 p.m. on May 26 on “Radio Jersey” at ThePenguinRocks.com. If you miss it, you can tune in any time in the archives at The Penguin or MixCloud.

“We’ve been working hard on recording our EP all winter,” vocalist Ralph Heuser said. “It’s a collection of songs that we felt could be better represented with a higher studio quality and vision. We’ve touched up all of the songs both sonically, and we even added some new parts for some of the songs that we felt could be a bit stronger.”

“The title ‘Ecocidal’ is sort of a play on words, talking about how we’re constantly hurting or damaging the environment,” Ralph continued. “Songs like ‘Nice to Meat You’ and ‘Shishigami’ delve into that subject a little more in depth.”

The band’s two new guitarists, Nick Stier and Justin Quintana, are an amazing addition to the band.

They’ve played with Ralph, bassist-vocalist Brian Santos and drummer Michael Heuser in other bands.

“When we brought them in last year, everything felt completely natural,” Ralph said. “They’ve brought the band to a whole new level both sonically and also brought in a whole new dynamic to our live shows.”

Plenty of summer shows are in the works, but the biggest one coming up is June 9 at House of Independents in Asbury Park with The Black Clouds.
