Looking for a song to be the soundtrack to the pleasures of life?

Gotcha!

Actually, the blowin’ up bluesedelic groovy-doomin’ chocolate mushroom band The Azures gotcha with their third single, “Lust of the Night,” the Makin Waves Song of the Week.

As the Makin Waves Song of the Week, “Lust of the Night” also can be heard between 6 and 8 p.m. on Aug. 25 on “Radio Jersey” at ThePenguinRocks.com. If you miss it, you can tune in any time in the archives at The Penguin and MixCloud.

“Lust of the Night” is a haunting ode to the opportunity of night, with strange surrealistic lyrics and vocals, wicked guitar riffs, and intricate rhythm to complete the foundation of a mystifying song.

The song was written by vocalist Gia Rose, drummer Eric Brody, guitarist Ashton Millman and bassist Robbie Coss and follows two previous singles: the road trippin’  “Come on Down” and The Doors-like “Whiskey Sour.”

Fans of Jefferson Airplane to Ruby the Hatchet will dig The Azures like a bee digs nectar ‘n’ pollen.

By the way, longtime fans and friends of Mike Brody and his late, great band Nobody’s Business will be psyched to know that Eric is his spawn.

Can’t wait for the fall-bound debut LP of this fantastic Jersey Shore band!

In the meantime, enjoy them live Aug. 27, Century Bar, Philadelphia, Aug. 28, Bowery Electric, New York City; Sept. 2, Veterans Hall, Conshohocken , Pa.; Sept. 3, Manafirkin Brewery, Manahawkin; Sept. 9, Stone Pony, Asbury Park; Sept. 15, Neon Jungle, also Philadelphia; Sept. 21, Bond Street Bar, also Asbury Park; Sept. 22, Serendipity Cafe, Montclair; Sept. 23, PetStock Popcorn Park Zoo, Lacey; Sept. 28, Silvana, Harlem, and Sept. 29., Red Tank Brewing Co., Red Bank.
