In the midst of celebrating its 25th year as a band, Jersey Shore-based The Wag will jump the pond next week by continuing the festivities with a week-long tour of London.

In celebration of the London tour, their recent single, “Fill It with Love,” is the Makin Waves Song of the Week.

As the Makin Waves Song of the Week, “Fill It with Love” also can be heard between 6 and 8 p.m. on June 23 on “Radio Jersey” at ThePenguinRocks.com. If you miss it, you can tune in any time in the archives at The Penguin or MixCloud.

“This year, we are celebrating 25 years as a band,” co-founding vocalist-guitarist Brian Ostering said. “We started off the year by releasing a brand new album called ‘Blue Bottles and Copper Coins,’ and had a really fun release show at The Strand Theater in Lakewood. We also have two music videos for songs on this record: ‘These Boots Are Made For Walkin’,’ and the latest video, ‘Fill It With Love.’

“At the end of June, we will be touring London and performing five shows there,” Brian continued. “At our show at the Half Moon in Putney, we will be opening for the band of a lovely lady named Norda Mullen. Norda was the flute player with the Moody Blues from 2002 to 2018. This show is sold out! When we get back, July is gonna be huge!”

The Wag — also vocalist-keyboardist Alicia Van Sant, bassist-vocalist Don Lee, and drummer-vocalist Joshua Van Ness — will perform on July 4 at the Milltown Fireworks and July 14 at The Vogel in Red Bank, where they’ll perform their “Beatles Spectacular." Tickets selling quickly for this show are available here.

Other highlights of The Wag’s 25th anniversary year will be special Halloween and Christmas Spectacular shows, both of which will be at The Strand, along with a second Christmas Spectacular at Middletown Arts Center.
