Makin Waves Song of the Week: "Brain Chemistry" by Via Crowe

Asbury Park singer-songwriter Via Crowe is the Makin Waves Song of the Week with “Brain Chemistry” from her self-released debut album, “UNFINISHED.”

Having played Asbury Lanes earlier this week to celebrate the self release of her debut album, “UNFINISHED,” young Asbury Park singer-songwriter Via Crowe is flying high.

Let’s keep her soaring with the sultry, surf-tinged heartbreak of “Brain Chemistry” as the Makin Waves Song of the Week.

As the Makin Waves Song of the Week, “Brain Chemistry” also can be heard between 6 and 8 p.m. on Dec. 29 on “Radio Jersey” at ThePenguinRocks.com. If you miss it, you can tune in any time in the archives at The Penguin and MixCloud.

“Brain Chemistry” is very jazz driven within a new genre proclaimed by Via as jindie, a mix of jazz and indie rock.

Produced by Evan Rudenjak at Lakehouse Recording Studios, “UNFINISHED” was released on Oct. 27 to rave reviews.

“The operation of making this album influenced me as an artist by truly finding myself in my artistry and what my aesthetic is for my music!” Via said. “This album takes you through the stages of my childhood going into adulthood as a commemoration of childhood!

“Playing Asbury Lanes has been a dream of mine since I was so little and to have made my first headlining show for my debut album release was absolutely surreal,” she continued. “Playing for an absolutely packed house was incredible!!”

Via not only recorded “UNFINISHED” at Lakehouse, she also was a student at it Music Academy.

In 2024, she will be playing extensively in the tristate area with her six-piece band. For specific details, visit https://www.viacrowemusic.com.
