(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- The Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg will present L.A. Theatre Works’ production of Lucy Loves Desi: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Sitcom, Sunday, February 19 at 6:00pm.This play shares the hilarious and true story behind one of America’s most beloved TV comedies, I Love Lucy.
Lucille Ball paved the way for many of today’s top comediennes, compelling Hollywood to deal with the rising power and influence of women artists both on-screen and behind the scenes. Her iconic series, I Love Lucy, remains one of the most groundbreaking and influential shows in television history. Lucy Loves Desi tells all of these stories and more, with as much heart and humor as an episode of I Love Lucy itself.
The production features Ellis Greer and Bill Mendieta as Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, Gerard Marzilli as Jess Oppenheimer, Laila Ayad as Vivian Vance, Tom Virtue as William Frawley, and Ozzie Rodriguez as Harry Ackerman. The play is directed by Brendon Fox.
