(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- On Wednesday February 15 at 6:00pm, you can enjoy a vegan buffet dinner and jokes from two local comedians, Jess Alaimo and Max Sheppard, at Asbury Park’s Ada’s Gojjo restaurant. The dinner and comedy show is called My Funny Valentine.

Award-winning comedian Jess Alaimo is known for her show So You Want To Be A Comedian?, which packed the house every week for years in Convention Hall’s SeaHorse (formerly Anchor’s Bend.) She has been featured on shows at Stress Factory, The Stone Pony, The Saint, and more. Jess has opened for the likes of Judy Gold and Julia Scotti. She’s also made news as a local activist. She founded the Asbury Park Women’s Convention alongside Deputy Mayor Amy Quinn. Jess’ self-deprecating and observational humor awarded her the Asbury Park Music Awards Top Comedian honor.

Funny woman Max Sheppard took the local comedy scene by storm when she began hosting various open mics around the shore area. Currently Maxine hosts a comedy open mic at the Eatontown Library. She is a veteran of the stage at Broadway Comedy club and has been performing through the tri-state area for years.

Tickets for My Funny Valentine are $40 and available online at jessalaimo.com. The event is sure to sell out, so the public is urged to buy in advance. Tickets may NOT be available at the door. Ada’s Gojjo (1301 Memorial Dr Asbury Park) has made its mark as a premiere dining experience for vegans and omnivores alike. The restaurant serves Ethiopian and Dominican cuisine. My Funny Valentine will be the establishment’s first venture into hosting comedy, and they are more excited than ever. The ticket price includes a buffet dinner plus the show.

“We are really excited to bring comedy to Ada’s. It’s a great event for anyone who isn’t sure what to do for Valentine’s Day, but wants to have a great time,” said Jess Alaimo. “I’m not saying your significant other will break up with you if you don’t come to the show, but I’m not saying they won’t either.”
