(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- On October 5, 2024, Raíces y Ritmos, a dynamic evening celebrating Hispanic heritage through music, art, and storytelling will take place at Jersey City Theater Center (JCTC). The event, organized by Siara Mirabel and Juana Penson, highlights the deep cultural roots (raíces) and vibrant rhythms (ritmos) that define the diverse Hispanic community. This celebration promises an evening of reflection, connection, and joy through the powerful expression of Latin American and Caribbean traditions. Showtime is 7:00pm.
The event will feature performances from acclaimed artists, including the soulful sounds of singer-songwriter Giselle Bellas and the energetic performances of Los Hermanos Garcia Band. Attendees will experience a rich tapestry of traditional and contemporary works, encompassing music, dance, and stories that celebrate the beauty and resilience of Hispanic cultures.

Experience the iconic Bread & Puppet Theater as they bring their visually stunning and politically charged circus to Jersey City. This performance, complete with stilt dancers, paper maché creatures, and a riotous brass band, will address contemporary social and political issues in a celebratory and thought-provoking spectacle. Join us for an evening of artistic activism, followed by the sharing of Bread & Puppet’s famous sourdough rye bread with aioli and an opportunity to purchase “Cheap Art” memorabilia.
