(NEWARK, NJ) -- On Saturday, July 9, 2022, the nonprofit I'm So Newark (ISN) will present Community Fun Day - Honoring the Vision of Reverend Ronald B. Christian. ISN aims to carry on his legacy of generosity and overwhelming support for others. Beginning at 10:00am, community members will participate in a daylong event featuring free food, rides, inflatables, music, entertainment, and give-a-ways.
This year's 2nd annual Community Fun Day celebrates the resilience of our neighborhoods after COVID, remote education, and the current inflation crisis affecting gas, food, rental, and mortgage payments. Both young and old will gather for good times, shared experiences, and fellowship in Weequahic Park, 92 Thomas Carmichael Drive, Newark, 07112. (Located behind Community Center)
Community Fun Day event sponsors include Newark Beth Israel Medical Center; County of Essex; Joi's Angels; City of Newark; Office of John Sharpe James, South Ward Councilman, and M&T Bank. This list would not be complete without including individual donors and volunteers—all play a significant role in ensuring a successful outcome.
Expected in attendance are several dignitaries, including Ras Baraka, Mayor, City of Newark, and Joseph DiVencenzo, Essex County Executive, New Jersey.
