(HADDONFIELD, NJ) -- Haddonfield Plays and Players presents Green Day's American Idiot from June 12-15, 2025. Based on the Grammy Award-winning multi-platinum album, this high-octane rock opera includes every song from the acclaimed album American Idiot as well as several songs from the band's Grammy-winning release, 21st Century Breakdown.
With little to no dialogue, the story relies solely on the lyrics of Green Day's groundbreaking album to execute the storyline. American Idiot follows the journeys of Johnny, Tunny, and Will, 3 friends on divergent paths, with one joining the military, another pursuing city life, and the third facing domestic responsibilities as they try to find purpose in a post-9/11 world.
The raw emotion of this show captures the zeitgeist of a young generation propelled into war and longing for change. “THIS IS THE DAWNING OF THE REST OF OUR LIVES.”
