Haddonfield Plays & Players presents "An American in Paris"

(HADDONFIELD, NJ) -- Haddonfield Plays & Players presents An American in Paris, a Tony-winning Broadway musical, from December 1-16, 2023. This is the romantic, dance-filled story of a young American soldier, a beautiful French girl, and an indomitable European city... all set to the immortal score from George and Ira Gershwin. The production stars Monica Matteo in the role of Lise Bouvier, whose previous work at the theater includes Urinetown and Cabaret.

“This delightful show hasn’t been widely performed in the Philadelphia area,” says Chris Miller, Managing Artistic Director. “As an area premiere, our production offers a rare chance to see this classic musical scored by the Gershwins.”

An American in Paris runs December 1-16, 2023. Tickets are $30 and available for purchase online. The theater is located at 957 East Atlantic Avenue in Haddonfield, New Jersey.

Showgoers will enjoy a 15% discount on beer purchases at Kings Road Brewing in Haddonfield by showing their ticket before or after the show. The theater is BYOB and guests are welcome to bring drinks.

The cast includes Matthew Reeve (Jerry Mulligan), Monica Matteo (Lise Dassin), C.J. Kish (Adam Hochberg), Patrick Waldron (Henri Baurel), Martha Wasser (Milo Davenport), and Joanne Mullin McBride (Madame Baurel). The ensemble includes Val Caldrone, Audrey DiEnno, Emersyn Rath, Claire Le Gall, Sarah Rodgers, Ken Lociero, Riley Newman, John Salera, Peter White, and Erin Whitescarver.

The production team includes Briad Rivell (Director/Choreographer), Allison Rossi (Music Director), Jennifer Gordon (Ballet Choreographer) - under the Artistic Direction of Chris Miller.

Haddonfield Plays & Players has been the home of professional quality theater with a community spirit since 1934. Located in a 124-seat performing arts center at Crows Woods in Haddonfield, New Jersey, Haddonfield Plays & Players often takes its shows on the road to local venues. Kaufman and Moss Hart, the musical premiered in 1981 and has since become one of Sondheim's most daring and emotionally resonant works.
