Gallery Episode presents "Past, Present and Future"

(LEONIA, NJ) -- Gallery Episode presents a group exhibition titled “Past, Present and Future” featuring the works of seven artists from different generations from December 15-31, 2023. The gallery acts as a time capsule that holds glimpses of the past, present, and future working artists. Just as art historians have explored how past art movements impacted future movements, visitors of the show can also witness in real time the subtle shifts between past artists, mid-career artists, and young artists whose works all exist in the same space.

Our artist of the past is the late artist Vladimir Grigorivich, who expressed himself with watercolor and oil paints – mastering texture and complex color schemes in his works to convey the deep emotion of his subjects. The mid-career artists featured in the show are Alise Loebelsohn, Bon Koo, Garin Baker, Hang Hong Park, and Jung Tae Lee. Coming from a background in working on large-scale fresco-like surfaces, the brushwork and textures in Alise Loebelsohn’s work work in harmony in her use of color and form to play with light and reflection. Bon Koo’s interest in economic systems explores themes of survival of the fittest in a Wall Street setting. Garin Baker captures a slice of life as he challenges himself to combine accurate and compelling use of light, form, and color with fascinating subjects. Han Hong Park is a Leonia-based artist whose paintings of New York City in the rain also serve as a metaphor for both the pain and hope in our lives. Jung Tae Lee’s meditative paintings explore what it means to exist in the organic flow of time and space. Our artist of the future is emerging artist Yoonjung Lee, whose work plays with texture and form to create paintings that are almost sculptural and reach out towards the viewer.

The exhibition will be on view from December 15 to December 31, with an opening reception on Friday, December 15 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Gallery Episode invites viewers to reflect on how we are all connected through time and what we can gain from our own introspection of the past, present, and future.

Gallery Episode is located at 330 Broad Avenue in Leonia, New Jersey. The Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 6:00pm and Saturdays from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
