originally published: 03/12/2023

Friends

(SURF CITY, NJ) -- The books, DVDs and compact discs that you no longer need might be just want your neighbor wants – and vice versa. Friends of the Island Library will accept donations Thursday, March 23 for their Two-Day Book Sale, 9:00am through 4:00pm Friday and Saturday, March 24 and 25, at the Ocean County Library Long Beach Island Branch.

Hardcover and softbound books, music CDs, audiobooks, and DVDs in good condition are acceptable. Please refrain from bringing video tapes and audio cassettes. Items can be brought to the LBI Branch meeting room, 9:00am until 4:00pm Thursday, March 23. The sale will commence on the following two days.

Proceeds from the sale serve many purposes, helping the Friends to support Library programs and crafts, sponsor the Kay Jones and Eleanor Smith Memorial Scholarships, and enhance Library furnishings and facilities.

The Friends of the Island Library welcome new members. Prospective members will find brochures and registration forms on hand during donation days, book sale days, and sponsored programs, and also at the LBI Branch circulation desk. Annual fees are $5 for individual memberships, $10 for families, and $50 for businesses.

For more information, visit the OCL Long Beach Island Branch, 217 South Central Avenue, Surf City, or call (609) 494-2480. Keep up with Library programs and events at www.theoceancountylibrary.org
