Tuesday, December 31 - State Theatre New Jersey presents Salute to Vienna. (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents Salute to Vienna New Year's Eve Concert on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 5:00pm. This is a joyful, lively experience and an annual State Theatre New Year's Eve tradition for 17 years.

Tuesday, December 31 - On New Year's Eve... Morristown Becomes a Stage. (MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- First Night Morris on December 31, 2024 is the biggest and brightest New Year's Eve celebration in New Jersey, providing a magnificent, family-friendly, substance and alcohol-free celebration in the heart of Morristown. This year's program features over 70 performances at 23 venues located throughout downtown Morristown, live stream, on-demand access, 30+ Film Festival, complimentary parking, and shuttles starting at 4:30pm. "Tradition" Art Exhibit Accompanies "Fiddler on the Roof" at Axelrod PAC. (DEAL PARK, NJ) -- Enjoy an evening filled with "Tradition" in both art and theater as Fiddler on the Roof is presented at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center, accompanied by a related art exhibit in the venue's Gallery on Grant. The exhibit, which runs through January 2025, consists of seven artists and one photographer and gives homage to the musical. Art Director Randye Krupnick curated this exhibit to mirror the storyline in Fiddler. Visitors will witness themes of life in Lithuania, cycles of seasons, cycles of life, photos of Israel and modern Op-Art created by an artist with Ukrainian roots.

Saturday, January 4 - Avenel PAC presents Willie Nile with opener James Mastro. (AVENEL, NJ) -- Woodbridge Township presents Willie Nile at The Avenel Performing Arts Center with support from Woodbridge Arts on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 7:30pm. James Mastro will open the night.

Tuesday, December 31 - Broadway Stars and Dancers from Dance Theatre of Harlem join NJ Festival Orchestra for New Year's celebration. (WESTFIELD, NJ) -- A Westfield tradition returns Tuesday, December 31, 2024 with the New Jersey Festival Orchestra's New Year’s Eve performance "Broadway Through the Ages," and with a new start time of 5.00pm.

Wednesday, January 1 - 2024 Montclair Jazz Festival Downtown Jamboree to be Broadcast on SiriusXM Real Jazz on New Year's Day. (MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- On January 1, 2025, SiriusXM's Real Jazz will broadcast the 2024 Montclair Jazz Festival Downtown Jamboree. Produced by Jazz House Kids, the 15th annual Montclair Jazz Festival Downtown Jamboree took place on September 14, 2024, setting a new attendance record of 26,000 music fans in Downtown Montclair, New Jersey.

Sunday, January 5 - Albert Music Hall presents Winter Hootenanny in the Pines. (WARETOWN, NJ) -- On Sunday, January 5, 2025, Albert Music Hall will kick off the new year with its Winter Hootenanny in the Pines. This event will mark the Hall's return from its winter break, offering an afternoon of live music and community spirit. Doors are at 1:00pm, showtime is 2:00pm.

Tuesday, January 7 - Princeton Public Library hosts PSO Soundtracks Talk: A Symphony Celebration. (PRINCETON, NJ) -- Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) presents a very special Soundtracks talk, "A Symphony Celebration", on Tuesday, January 7, 2024 at the Princeton Public Library. Edward T. Cone Music Director Rossen Milanov and former Executive Director Melanie Clarke look back at some of their favorite moments together on and off stage as they mark the Maestro's 60th birthday. Showtime is 7:00pm.

"ANNIE" returns to New York City for the First Time in a Decade. (NEW YORK, NY) -- Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. (MSG Entertainment), Carolyn Rossi Copeland Productions, Inc. and Crossroads Live North America recently announced full casting for the limited engagement of iconic Tony Award-winning musical ANNIE at The Theater at Madison Square Garden which runs from December 4, 2024 through January 5, 2025. This run marks the return of ANNIE to New York City for the first time in a decade.

Luna Stage's "Mrs. Stern Wanders the Prussian State Library" Gets A New 5 Week Run Off Broadway. (NEW YORK, NY) -- Congrats to Luna Stage! Due to critical acclaim and an incredible run of sold out performances at 59E59 Theaters, Luna Stage's New York premiere of Jenny Lyn Bader's Mrs. Stern Wanders the Prussian State Library, directed by Ari Laura Kreith, is extending and moving to Off-Broadway's WP Theater for a limited five-week engagement, December 10, 2024 – January 12, 2025.

Playhouse 22 presents "American Son" - a Play that Raises Questions about Race, Parenting, and Justice. (EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Start off the new year with "American Son", a drama by Christopher Demos-Brown and directed by Mimi B. Francis at Playhouse 22 that runs weekends from January 3-12, 2025. A play about an estranged bi-racial couple that must confront their feelings about race and bias after their son is detained by the local police following a traffic stop incident. Their disparate histories and backgrounds inform their assumptions as they try to find out what happened to their son.

Saturday, January 4 - Laugh Along with Larry Donsky at the Ocean County Library Jackson Branch. (JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- Could you use a little laughter to start 2025? How about lots of it? Let comedian Larry Donsky show you why "Laughter is the Best Medicine" at the Ocean County Library Jackson Branch on Saturday, January 4, 2025. The event begins at 2:00pm.

EVENT PREVIEWS

(GALLOWAY, NJ) -- Murphy Writing of Stockton University will host the 31st annual Winter Poetry & Prose Getaway at Seaview, a Dolce Hotel from January 17-20, 2025. The weekend event is one of the winter's oldest and largest writers' conferences. Beginning and experienced writers will receive craft discussion, writing prompts, writing time, feedback, motivation and inspiration.
