originally published: 10/23/2024

(HACKENSACK, NJ) -- The Hackensack Environmental Justice Alliance (HEJA) invites the public to attend "Sweater Weather Walk", a family friendly, fun event, along the Hackensack River on Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Bring the family and dress up your pets to celebrate autumn along the Hackensack River at Foschini Park (78 River Street) in Hackensack. The event is sponsored by the Northern New Jersey Community Foundation and is free for all.

Participants will have an opportunity to walk along the Hackensack River’s path and learn more about the City of Hackensack and the river’s rich history. Several fun free activities are planned, including face painting for children and a family photo opportunity to be taken against an autumnal backdrop. Professional artist Monica Chavarria, president of the Hackensack Art Club, will present the “Painting the River Art” session for children and their families. Gift card prizes will be awarded for the best pet sweater. Refreshments of cider donuts and apple cider will also be available.
