Canal Music Studios to Reopen with Open House on June 10th at New Home in Stockton

originally published: 05/15/2023

(STOCKTON, NJ) -- Canal Music Studios is delighted to announce a grand reopening at its new location in Stockton, NJ, with a public open house and celebration set for Saturday, June 10th, from 11:00am to 4:00pm. The grand reopening and open house celebration is partly made possible by over 150 dedicated donors.  Canal Music Studios, located initially in Lambertville, NJ, moved to the new Stockton location on 16 Bridge Street in response to Hurricane Ida and the devastating flooding that followed.

The new Stockton, NJ, location in the tranquil borough will offer more classes, more space, and new programming that will be announced during the public open house on June 10th, 2023. The open house event will also offer light refreshments and live entertainment by various Canal Music Studios instructors and students.

Immediately after Ida’s flood, Canal Music Studio supporters and the community rallied together and raised funds to secure the school’s future. “I was overwhelmed by the immediate community response to dive in and remedy our dire situation. I honestly thought our school’s doors were shuttered permanently. To my amazement, a GoFundMe page was created, a few benefit concerts organized by students, WDVR FM, and friends, raising over $60,000 to help us recover and secure our new home – our future never looked brighter,” stated Founder and Executive Director Adrienne Walsh.

Future programming in person or virtually at Canal Music Studios will include summer camps, private lessons for all ages, group classes in Music theory and Composition, master classes, instrumental group classes for ages 8 – 85+, and Chamber Music, Jazz/Rock Ensembles and Workshops.

Canal Music Studios (CMS), founded in 2013 by a classical violinist and a blues pianist is an organization of over 15 professional musicians.  Now located in Stockton, NJ, in a new 2,000-square-foot home, CMS houses a variety of onsite, state-of-the-art instruments, offering high-quality music education to a growing student body of 200 community members of all ages and abilities.  Teaching the love and craft of music of any style, CMS also stages recitals and concerts throughout the year, while presenting professional performance opportunities by arrangements with other music organizations, rock clubs, and competitions.  Music is fun.  It is special.  It is thrilling; music is connecting.
