(WASHINGTON, NJ) -- With country music and line dancing kicking all day, it'll be a family friendly fun-filled day of dancing, dancing and more dancing when Washington (Warren County) hosts Boots in the Borough on Saturday, April 18, 2026. The free event, which will take place in Downtown Washington from 11:00am to 7:00pm, is the first of its kind in the region.
"We are really, really excited about Boots in the Borough," said Kristy Romanowski, the Executive Director of the Washington Business Improvement District. "No doubt country music and line dancing are a big part of the Northwest Jersey community. The feedback we've gotten is overwhelmingly excitement. We are thrilled to make this happen."
DJ Rupe will spin tunes throughout the day and Jamie Mendez will lead the line dancing.
Come 3:00pm, Big Hix, considered among the best country bands in New Jersey, takes the stage for a live performance that will have folks on their feet.
"We see this as a great event that brings the community together," said Romanowski. "We may be 'Little Washington' but we are thinking big."
In addition to the music, there will be vendors, food trucks, assorted dining options around town, a beer tent (special promo cups while they last!), and contests with prizes.
"Bring your dancing shoes," said Romanowski. "Boots are optional!"
And even if you don't dance, there are plenty of good reasons to make a day of it!
Boots in the Borough is being presented by the Washington BID, with sponsorship by PNC Bank, The Meat Shoppe, Grand Central Station, Hunterdon Health, Swift Print Solutions, and Gutter Boys.
