Lazlo, founder of BlowUpRadio.com (an online station based around New Jersey artists), shines a light on some of the many new releases from NJ based musicians each week with this column. This week Lazlo takes a look at releases by Goalie Fight, Andrew Valentino, Slow Buildings, Arlan Feiles, and Geb Zurburg.
Goalie Fight - "Shineshoe" [single] - Emo lyrics paired with punk infused indie rock equals a song you should definitely check out!
Andrew Valentino - "Xenismos" - Andrew Valentino's latest power pop album is full of riffs and hooks and is highly enjoyable.
Slow Buildings - "I Never Could Leave You" - Slow Buildings have nailed the fine art of mid-tempo indie pop rock. The songs are far from saccherine, but full of hooks, harmonies, and all around goodness.
Arlan Feiles - "It's So Easy" [single] - The first single from Arlan Feiles's forthcoming album, "Blame Me", "It's So Easy" is a jangly, peppy, tune. To paraphrase the lyrics, "everyday things get harder and harder, and this Damn world can be so cruel, It's so easy [listening to this song]"
Geb Zurburg - "Get On" - Long time listeners of BlowUpRadio.com may remember from the prolific early 00's band, Echofission. Since that band's end, Geb has put out some equally amazing solo stuff. These are not the typical "solo acoustic artist" recordings. These are full band, epic recordings, artistic indie rock with pop hooks. Brilliant!
That's all for this week. Remember BlowUpRadio.com, plays these and many other New Jersey based artists on our internet radio station, so please check us out. #SupportGoodMusic - If you like any of the above artists, please purchase their music from their site.
