BlowUpRadio.com's New & Notable NJ Music 5/15/23

By Lazlo

originally published: 05/15/2023

Lazlo, founder of BlowUpRadio.com (an online radio station based around New Jersey artists), shines a light on some of the many new releases from NJ based musicians each week with this column. This week Lazlo takes a look at releases by The Williamsboy, Palamino, Wiser Time, and Cranston Dean.

The Williamsboy - "Coming Home". Matt Williams, aka The Williamsboy, has been busy. "I’ve been working tree work for the past three years and I’ve been working Monday through Sunday seven days a week trying to provide for my 2 boys," he said in the e-mail announcing the release of his latest opus, "Coming Home".

I have no idea where he found the time to write and record 8 songs that make up the new album, but I am so glad he did. His blending of Blues, Americana, Folk & Pop Rock, is a joy to listen to!

Palamino - "September". Emo indie-rock band Palamino returns with two new songs that may feel less like Spring and more like Fall/early Winter, but don't let that deter you from listening to these wonderful songs.

Wiser Time - "Hanging Around". Wiser Time continually puts out outstanding Bluesy/Americana/Folk ROCK & Roll. Their latest single, "Hanging Around", is the first tasting from their forthcoming EP, "All Fired Up". If you'll excuse the cliché, I am all fired up to hear the rest of this EP!

Cranston Dean - "Northern Town". Not sure why I received so many new releases this week that fit in the Blues/Americana mold, but Cranston Dean fits in that category too, sprinkling in some alt-country and a pinch of singer-songwriter soul on his latest album, "Northern Town". This is a town you will want to visit!

That's all for this week.
