Lazlo, founder of BlowUpRadio.com (an online radio station based around New Jersey artists), shines a light on some of the many new releases from NJ based musicians each week with this column. This week Lazlo takes a look at releases by Kelley K, Painters, Marc Ambrosia, September's Ghost, and aubeydoo.

Kelley K - "I Can't Hear You, My Dog is Deaf". I hate categorizing music, but it is what is expected in columns like this so you have some idea what I am talking about (though I would suggest actually checking out a song from each artist to better get an idea if it is your cup of tea or not).

Anyway...

I guess Kelley K would fall under bedroom pop. The songs are more or less acoustic, with layered vocal and personal lyrics (tip: Some artists are nice enough to post the lyrics. When they do you should definitely take a moment to read them)

Painters - "Full Moon Girl" [single]. Dark Surf/Post Punk band Painters return with their latest single, which to my ears would place well in a mix with Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Cure. An excellent song!

Marc Ambrosia - "Edge". From the mid 90's thru the early 00's the Adult Contemporary format seemed to be thriving on radio.

I don't know if that is still the case today, but if Adult Contemporary stations still exist, they should all be playing Marc Ambrosia's new album. "Edge" is full of singer-songwriter pop ballads, and eschews the overproduction that others in this category often do.

September's Ghost - "Halloween 2022". Always happy when there is new music from September's Ghost, and the two songs that make up "Halloween 2022" show 2 different sides of this amazing band. "Rainbow Colored Piss Water" is an upbeat pop-punk song, while "Surreal" is a more introspective song that starts out mellow before building to a more rocking ending.

aubeydoo - "The Bigger Fish". "The Bigger Fish is about love, friendship, existential crisis, and friendship (again!) - this collection of songs is a love letter to my power-pop inspirations." - aubeydoo

"The Bigger Fish is a wonderful EP with 5 very catchy tunes! With a run time just over 11 minutes, even the busiest person can find time to check this EP out." - Lazlo

That's all for this week.
