'Sense and Sensibility' is a Theatrical Treat
 

Attention Jane Austen fans: There is a fabulous new production of one of your favorite Austen novels, Sense and Sensibility, playing in Madison, NJ. Don’t miss your chance to see the time honored classic unfold live onstage at the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (STNJ).

 



American Theater Group presents "My Italy Story" by Joseph Gallo
 

(RAHWAY, NJ) -- NYC-based actor Michael Notardonato, soon to be featured in a new Netflix series, will star in American Theater Group's (ATG), endearing play My Italy Story by NJ playwright Joseph Gallo. The 2024-25 Season Opener will be directed by Charlotte Cohn, who most recently helmed ATG's world premiere Canned Goods. The one-man show will run October 24-27 at Hamilton Stage in Rahway, and November 1-3, 2024 at the Sieminski Theater in Basking Ridge.

 



An Interview with Playwright Phoebe Farber, Ceator of "Gemstones" at Vivid Stage
 

(SUMMIT, NJ) -- Vivid Stage, in residence at Oakes Center, is presenting the first episode of an original series, Gemstones, on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 8:00pm and Sunday, September 22, 2024 at 2:00pm. Gemstones is a structured, longform improvisation series that mixes comedy and drama, and that can be viewed in its entirety or singly. Written by Phoebe Farber, each monthly episode will feature recurring characters and special guests, much like a limited series that can be found on a streaming service, but with the freshness and excitement of live theatre.

Broadway's Rock of Ages Band Comes to Levoy Theatre on October 19th
 

(MILLVILLE, NJ) -- For over six years they rocked Broadway, and millions of fans, in the five-time Tony Award®-nominated musical Rock of Ages. Now, for the very first time, Broadway's Rock of Ages Band are bringing the music of the hit Broadway show to venues across the country as they reveal details for their Fall 2024 Tour. Featuring an all-star ensemble, comprising the artists from the original cast on Broadway, they will perform at the Levoy Theatre on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 8:00pm.

 



A Deep Dive Interview with Daniel Donato
 

Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country is on the road for a busy fall tour including the band's second appearance at the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ on Friday, October 18, 2024. Cosmic Country will also perform 2-night (October 19-20) at the Ardmore Music Hall in Ardmore, PA (outside of Philadelphia, PA) and a 3-night run at Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg (Brooklyn) NY on October 24-26, 2024. I was able to sit down with Daniel Donato to discuss all things Cosmic.

 



Jazz & Roots Music Festival Returns to Kean University on Saturday
 

(UNION, NJ) -- Kean University's Jazz & Roots Music Festival takes place in Hillside on Saturday, September 21, 2024, offering the public and Kean community a festive free, outdoor celebration of music. When you think of the word injury, what springs to mind? Theater, right? Maybe not but perhaps it should. "Gruesome Playground Injuries" is a play written by Ravi Joseph. A fast-paced, intense, and darkly comic play, it tells the story of Kayleen and Doug, two friends whose lives are intertwined through a series of injuries that bring them together. Joseph highlights the complexity and messiness of life, reminding us that it becomes a bit easier with someone by our side.

(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- A new exhibit at the Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University will celebrate two southern New Jersey tribal communities through the display of historical documents, traditional artifacts and contemporary art. "Still Here: The Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape and Powhatan-Renape Nations of Southern New Jersey" opens October 9 and runs until January 5, 2025.
