(PATERSON, NJ) -- Word Seed Inc. invites you to the fifth annual Paterson Poetry Festival. This three-day poetry extravaganza is taking place in downtown Paterson, October 1-3, 2022. The Paterson Poetry Festival is a celebration of words, writers, and poetry lovers. The Festival is a multi-day event, which includes the Poetry in Motion Car Show with the Classic Riderz Car Club, The Paterson Poetry Festival Slam with a cash prize, Open Mic, The Speak Series/ Homage Stage, Lit Fest, a creative fun space for young kids, Youth Poetry Contest, Master Classes, Award ceremonies, vendors, and food.
The festival takes place in-person at the Passaic County Court House Plaza (77 Hamilton Street) on Saturday, October 1st (from 10:00am-5:00pm) and Sunday, October 2nd (from 12:00pm-5:00pm). "A large part of Passaic County's rich history is composed of the art contributed by our residents and visitors. We have such a rich history of artists of all backgrounds," stated County Commissioner Director Bruce James. "The Passaic County Commissioner Board is excited to be co-sponsoring the fifth annual Paterson Poetry Festival, showcasing the vibrant talent that lies throughout our county."
This event is generously sponsored by the Passaic County Board of County Commissioners and presented in partnership with the Friends of the Passaic County Parks, The Paterson Museum, Classic Riderz Car Club, MFA in Creative Writing & Poetics, University of Washington, Bothell, Tap into Paterson, the Paterson Free Public Library, and Cavan Kerry Press.
"It is an honor to create in collaboration with Passaic County for the fifth edition of the Paterson Poetry Festival,” said the event's founder, and Paterson Poet Laureate Talena Lachelle Queen. "We have some great partners for this year's celebration and it promises to be the best one we've ever produced."
Founded in 2019 Word Seed Inc. is a 501(c) 3 located in Paterson, New Jersey. Our mission is to give voice and support to writers of every age and skill level within our diverse communities. They start with the seed, which is basic literacy in very young children and continue their exploration into the many blooms and blossoms that language becomes as an artistic expression of the mature writer.
