Zufall Health Announces Call for Artists for "New Beginnings," First Group Exhibition in West Orange

originally published: 07/03/2024

(WEST ORANGE, NJ) -- Zufall Health, a nonprofit community health center headquartered in Dover with a facility in West Orange, welcomes art submissions to an upcoming group exhibition. The exhibition is called "New Beginnings," and will explore the themes of renewal, hope, and the beauty of starting anew. They invite artists to submit representational, abstract, and conceptual works of art, ranging from drawings, paintings, collage, and photographic and digital art. Note: They cannot accept sculpture.

Historically, art exhibitions have been held in Zufall’s Dover headquarters. The fall 2024 exhibition marks the first in West Orange and one of the first open-to-the-public events at this state-of-the-art facility that opened in early 2024.

Launched more than a decade ago, Zufall’s Arts In Health program adds another dimension to the care they provide by drawing upon the therapeutic value of art in the healing process. They believe fine art adds a sense of comfort and beauty to an atmosphere traditionally considered sterile, and helps alleviate the anxiety of being in a medical setting.

On a broader scale, their intent with Arts In Health is to reach beyond their patients and staff to culturally enrich the community by providing new channels for creative expression and by inspiring an appreciation of the arts to individuals who typically may not have access to mainstream visual arts experiences.

This is open to professional and amateur artists of any ability. Zufall – Heath is located at 49 Mount Pleasant Avenue in West Orange, New Jersey.
