(MARLTON, NJ) -- Artistic Director and Founder Andy Boettcher has announced that Triple Threat Theater Productions will hold a Summer Theater Festival and Benefit Concert on Saturday, August 24, 2024. The purpose of the event is to raise capital toward a dedicated rehearsal space for the nonprofit educational theater company’s more than 450 students.
“Our programs are growing at a tremendous rate,” Boettcher says. “In order to keep up with enrollment demands and create new theatrical education opportunities, we need a space that will serve as a home base for our students. As a nonprofit organization, we are counting on the community to support this endeavor. We hope the Summer Theater Festival and Benefit Concert will bring people together for an evening of fun and entertainment with the greater purpose of providing our youth with continued opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive through the pursuit of musical theater education.”
The August 24th event will be held at Sovereign Grace Church in Marlton, NJ. Festival activities will begin at 4:00pm with food, games, raffles, character meet-and-greets, and other fun festivities for families. The benefit concert beginning at 7:00pm will feature Triple Threat students and professionals singing show-stopping Broadway tunes. Members of the public are encouraged to come to the concert, or to come earlier in the day and enjoy the pre-concert festival, too. Admission is $15. Summer 2024 Triple Threat students can bring their scripts to the event to receive free admission.
Since its founding in 2014, Triple Threat has had a tremendous impact on youth in the South Jersey and Philadelphia regions. Each year, the company facilitates numerous musical theater performances in both suburban and urban communities, building unity among youth from diverse backgrounds. In March 2024, Triple Threat Students performed The Lightning Thief (The Percy Jackson Musical) hosted by the South Camden Theatre Company at the Waterfront South Theatre in Camden, NJ. Throughout summer of 2024, Triple Threat will facilitate youth musical theater performances in Marlton and Cherry Hill, NJ, culminating in a Philadelphia performance of Finding Nemo Kids at Christ Church South Philly.
“We have found much success in using theater to encourage a unique unity in a sharply divided culture,” Boettcher says. “We appreciate how the community is supporting us as we seek to raise funds for a rehearsal space that will allow us to make a continued impact on our youth.”
Founded in 2014, Triple Threat Theater Productions is a nonprofit educational theater which serves more than 450 students in South Jersey and Philadelphia each year. Triple Threat’s year- round programs offer theatrical learning and performance opportunities for elementary-aged through high school students, while benefiting a community of more than 5,000 audience members on an annual basis. The organization’s low tuition and free tuition programs make it possible for children to participate in theater who would not have the opportunity to do so otherwise. A special emphasis is placed on connecting students from Camden City with peers from neighboring towns through the theater’s Imago Dei Initiative. Triple Threat is committed to reflecting the image of God through excellence in theater while strengthening communities and bridging strong connections among diverse groups of people.
