Top 15 Most Read Stories At New Jersey Stage From November 19-25, 2023

Here's a look at the top 15 most read articles published at New Jersey Stage from November 19-25, 2023. Each week we publish about 70 articles, including several original columns and features, along with news releases for events happening throughout the state and nearby areas like Philadelphia and New York City. This week's top 15 includes articles from 8 counties in New Jersey (Bergen, Camden, Essex, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Monmouth, and Ocean).

1) Remember Jones to partner with Baseline Social to bring "A Brand New Year's Eve!" to Fort Monmouth - (OCEANPORT, NJ) -- National touring artist Remember Jones, known for his over-the-top, theatrical, funk/soul and rock music events and originals, has announced “A Brand New Year’s Eve!” at the new Baseline Social on Fort Monmouth in Oceanport. This will be the venue’s first concert and one of the first live indoor music events on Fort Monmouth in many years.

2) Mayor Baraka Distributes 3,600 Turkeys and Celebrates 2 Millionth Meal Distribution Milestone In Partnership with HelloFresh - (NEWARK, NJ) -- Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka, HelloFresh, ShopRite of Newark, Table to Table, and Colavita distributed 3,600 complete Thanksgiving turkey dinners and additional food products to Newark residents on November 20, 2023 at Newark's Training Recreation Education Center (55 Ludlow Street). The distribution was free and open to the public via drive-through and walk-up.

3) Chris Batten and the Woods release "Live From The Bowery Ballroom, NYC" "The Woods may be going away for a little bit, but it ain't over and we'll see you soon." Those were the parting words from an interview with Chris Batten in October 2009, just before Chris Batten & The Woods were about to play their final show at Maxwell's in Hoboken.  True to his word, the band did indeed return - albeit over a decade later - with new music, celebrated by a concert at the Bowery Ballroom that led to a 4 song live EP released on November 22, 2023.

4) Classic Stones LIVE! at the Grunin Center - For some people “it’s only rock ’n roll,” but for fans of The Rolling Stones this Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Toms River, NJ’s Grunin Center for the Arts “it’s a gas, gas, gas” being part of the sold-out crowd here for a concert by the Classic Stones Live tribute band featuring The Glimmer Twins.

5) Makin Waves Album of the Month: "Shimmer" by Renee Maskin - I’ve known for a long time that Renee Maskin is an amazing songwriter and performer, but I had no idea that she could play so many instruments so well. A former member of the Makin Waves Band of the Year Award-winning Lowlight, Renee shines on the brand new self-produced Mint 400 Records LP, “Shimmer,” playing much more than her typical guitar accompaniment. She adds lap steel, piano, drums, bass, synthesizer, banjo and more to the mix.

6) Tyreek McDole Wins the 12th Annual Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition - (NEWARK, NJ) -- As part of NJPAC’s TD James Moody Jazz Festival, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) announced Tyreek McDole as the winner of the annual Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition. This marks the second time a male vocalist won in the contest’s 12-year history. Hosted by WBGO Radio’s Pat Prescott, yesterday’s “The SASSY Awards” presented the Top Five Finalists on the iconic NJPAC stage in front of a live audience.

7) Ritz Theatre Company presents World Premiere of "Hollystalk" - (HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- This Christmas, The Ritz Theatre Company presents the world premiere production of its second-ever original holiday panto, Hollystalk (Or, How a Giant of a Mistake Became the Best Christmas Surprise!), a fast-paced and fun-filled musical romp inspired by Great Britain's beloved theatrical tradition of holiday pantomime. The show runs at The Ritz from December 1-17, 2023.

10) Olde Stone House Gets Much Needed Repairs Through Grant Money - (WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- The Olde Stone House, aka the George Jr and Sarah Morgan House, in Washington Township looks strange these days - sporting ugly plywood doors and boarded up windows on the first floor. Soon, however, the iconic symbol of Washington Township on Egg Harbor Road will have windows and doors faithfully restored to their previous look.

11) Kevin Hart to Perform Brand New Material at bergenPAC - (ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- Comedy superstar Kevin Hart is coming to Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) for a special one-night appearance to perform brand new material on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 8:00pm. Make sure your events are part of our weekly columns by sending press releases to us at info@newjerseystage.com. Event previews are always one of the most popular areas of the website. Event previews get noticed when we first publish them and then get noticed again when they are brought back to the main area of the site the week the event takes place - sometimes even several months later.  We also run weekly columns promoting events, music, and theatre shows taking place for the week. These columns include our featured event previews and event listings along with all of our event previews of the week. Many times, they are among the most read stories of the week. There is no cost for us to run your press releases!

For even more promotion, check out our ad rates which run $50-$100 for an entire month of targeted advertising and includes events listed in our online calendar. Or you can have your events listed in the calendar for $10 per event. Either way your events will be featured in the weekly columns. NJ Stage keeps our rates low so they are affordable to arts organizations of all sizes.
