(BELMAR, NJ) -- The Artist Collective Troupe will present their first ever summer musical, Mary Poppins, on August 26, 27, and 28 at Belmar Elementary School in Belmar, NJ. ASL interpretation will be offered on Saturday August 27. Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney Film, watch the beloved tale of Mary Poppins come to life onstage in this heartwarming, “practically perfect” musical!
Young Jane and Michael Banks have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on a number of magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren’t the only ones upon whom she has a powerful effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises, “Anything can happen if you let it!”
ACT’s production of Mary Poppins is directed by Eric Pertgen and musical directed by Marissa DeVeau, and features a talented cast of performers ages 8-19.
Tickets are $15.00 each and are currently available on the Artist Collective Troupe’s website. Performances will take place at Belmar Elementary School on Friday August 26 and Saturday August 27 at 7:00pm, and on Sunday August 28 at 2:00pm. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the performance. The school is located at 1101 Main Street in Belmar, NJ.
ACT is excited to be able to offer ASL interpretation at their Saturday August 27 performance of “Mary Poppins!” Several seats have been designated for patrons to be able to view our interpreter more clearly. The theater is proud to have this opportunity to make community theater more inclusive and accessible.
In keeping with ACT’s mission of using their love of the arts to give back, a portion of proceeds from Mary Poppins will be donated to local animal shelters.
