For Black History Month, the Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum (SSAAM) presents "Meet Harriet Tubman," a special virtual performance by actor and educator Dr. Daisy Century of American Historical Theatre. For one night only on February 7 at 6:00pm, Dr. Century will portray courageous abolitionist and American heroine Harriet Tubman live on Zoom with audience Q&A.
Dr. Century considers Harriet Tubman her role model, someone who found freedom herself and fought to bring it to others. The brave Underground Railroad conductor who rescued more than 70 enslaved people once said "I never ran my train off the track and I never lost a passenger." As Harriet Tubman, Dr. Century takes each audience member along for this ride.
This virtual event is FREE but requires prior registration. Register at: https://www.ssaamuseum.org/tubman
The mission of the Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum is to tell the story of the unique culture, experiences, and contributions of the African American community of the Sourland Mountain Region. The museum is located at 189 Hollow Road in Skillman, New Jersey.
