Stevie Van Zandt And Wakaya Perfection Create Little Steven

Stevie Van Zandt has joined forces with mission-driven wellness enterprise Wakaya Perfection to create Little Steven’s Underground Apothecary, a new line of boutique teas, coffees, and other holistic products available now exclusively via wickedcoolwellness.com. All products utilize Wakaya Perfection’s range of single-sourced wellness ingredients, including Australian Manuka Honey, Organic Pink Fijian Ginger, Fijian Kava, Fijian & Nicaraguan Turmeric, Peruvian Maca, and other locally grown and harvested elements from small farms all around the world.

A special introductory video celebrating the launch of Little Steven’s Underground Apothecary and Wicked Cool Wellness – co-starring Wicked Cool recording artist Jessie Wagner, The Sopranos’ Vincent Pastore and Sammy Semenza, Little Steven and The Disciples of Soul backing singers Tania Jones and Sara Devine, and Maureen Van Zandt (The Sopranos, Lilyhammer) – can be seen here.

“I have always demanded the very best from myself and of everyone around me,” says Van Zandt, “and my new wellness brand Little Steven’s Underground Apothecary is no different. These products are the best I can find in the world. So enjoy, be well, and stay focused on the only part of our destinies we totally control – what we choose to put in our bodies.”

Little Steven’s Underground Apothecary – which has already received early support from Eddie Vedder and Rachael Ray, along with other music and media stars – was officially launched with an exclusive event held last week at New York City’s Hard Rock Hotel. The event was attended by high-profile wellness experts and media outlets including Rolling Stone, SPIN, and others.

All Little Steven’s Underground Apothecary and Wicked Cool Wellness products are specially designed to turn on the immune system, tune in to control wellness, and drop out of the unnatural food chain. The Wicked Cool Wellness Manuka Tea line fuses Fijian Kava and Organic Pink Fijian Ginger with Australian-sourced Manuka honey to create a uniquely delicious blend that soothes both the mind and body.

Grown in volcanic soil in Nicaragua, Little Steven’s Underground Apothecary Coffee is offered in various roasts, both ground, and whole-bean, with maca- and kava-reinforced versions also available. These small-batch, single-source coffees are Non-GMO, Fair Trade, shade-grown, and most importantly rainforest friendly supporting the three pillars of rainforest sustainability – social, economic, and environmental.

Little Steven’s Underground Apothecary Flower Power Pops are available in three delicious flavors, with the calming effects of South Pacific Kava, the healing relief of Organic Fijian Ginger, and the soothing power of Organic Fijian Turmeric. All Flower Power Pops are artisanally crafted using only the finest holistic ingredients from Wakaya’s essential health and wellness collection.

Little Steven’s Underground Apothecary Soy Candles are all artisanal, environmentally friendly, and hand-poured, with exotic scents including Salvation Desert Spices, Cinnamon, and Soulfire Maple. Handmade in Northern Vermont, Little Steven’s Underground Apothecary Soy Candles burn clean and completely and fill your room with amazing scents that will transport you to exotic locales.

Additional Little Steven’s Underground Apothecary products – including brownies, ice cream, and more, all utilizing Wakaya’s healing, holistic ingredients – will be unveiled soon.

10% of all profits from Little Steven’s Underground Apothecary products will be donated to TeachRock.org. TeachRock is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that uses the history of popular music to create engaging, multicultural lesson plans for history, social studies, language arts, music, and science classrooms, for learning at all levels, and are available to educators, students, and individuals at no cost.

Stevie Van Zandt is a musician, performer, songwriter, arranger, music producer, music supervisor, TV producer, actor, director, Broadway producer, TV and film composer, live event producer, international DJ, activist, historian, teacher, NY Times best-selling author, member of the New Jersey Hall of Fame, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and is recognized internationally as one of the world’s foremost authorities on both contemporary and traditional rock and soul. After helping create the “Jersey Shore” sound with the Asbury Jukes, he became a founding member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band and went on to become a successful solo artist in his own right, recording and performing with his band Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul. He co-starred in all seven seasons of The Sopranos, playing “Silvio Dante,” a principal character that he created. He starred in, co-wrote, executive produced, provided the music supervision and scoring, and directed (the final episode) for the award-winning series Lilyhammer, which made history as the first original programming for Netflix.

Wakaya Perfection creates some of the finest quality, single-source, organic wellness ingredients in the world from their small farms in Fiji and Nicaragua which are 100% grown and harvested by local loving hands, with no machinery or pesticides ever used. Their crops are famous around the world for their flavor and potency. Co-founded by David Gilmour and David Roth, Wakaya began on Wakaya Island – a 2,200-acre private paradise in the Fiji archipelago. It was there that the Wakaya Perfection team discovered that essential root products grow best in volcanic, nutrient-rich soil, which nourishes Wakaya Perfection’s proprietary rootstock to produce the highest quality powders on earth. All crops are hand planted and hand harvested using organic methods, irrigated solely with naturally falling rainwater – the same pure rainwater that ends up in FIJI Water bottles. Gilmour’s and Roth’s passion for innovation has since led the Wakaya team to find additional dynamic locations to grow its volcanic, single-origin wellness products, including Tonga, Nicaragua, and Peru.
