(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Blessing Bag Brigade is launching their Sleep Out campaign with EmPowerMe, an Asbury Park non-profit, on Thursday, December 8th. They are challenging you to give up your bed for a sleeping bag to Asbury Park's Convention Hall for just one night to help raise funds for hundreds of thousands homeless people sleeping in the streets. The sleep out starts at 6:00pm.
Senator Vin Gopal will be the guest speaker. Donations will be used, in part, to support the homeless and their needs. Donations can be made at empowermenj.org.
Sleep Out is not about pretending to be homeless. We Sleep Out to show our solidarity with those who are homeless. The experience includes opportunities to learn from experts, hear inspiring stories, and advocate for the future where everyone has a safe and comfortable place to sleep.
Dress warm, bring your sleeping gear or some sort of shelter - come with cardboard boxes, sleeping bags, blankets, tarps, and tents to experience the challenges that the homeless face. Stay for a short while or stay all night at Convention Hall. See if you could get people to sponsor you being out for a certain amount of time and donate to the causes of www.empowermenj.org
Convention Hall in located on Ocean Avenue in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
