(GALLOWAY, NJ) -- The hit public radio series and podcast that combines star power with brand-new stories will be performed live in Stockton University's Performing Arts Center on Saturday, October 5, 2024. "Selected Shorts on Tour" promises an evening of performances that are funny, moving and unforgettable. Showtime is 7:30pm.
Each short story is completely original and will be brought to life by actors Zach Grenier (CBS’s “The Good Wife” and Paramount+’s “The Good Fight”), Colbie Minifie (“The Boys” and “Fear the Walking Dead”) and Kate Burton (“Grey’s Anatomy” and Broadway’s “Hedda Gabler” and “The Elephant Man”). Grenier and Burton have both been nominated for Tony Awards.
Tickets are $20 for the general public, $18 for senior citizens (65+) and military, $16 for alumni, $15 for faculty and staff and $9 for children under 12. Stockton students can get tickets for free. Tickets are available for purchase online and at the Stockton Performing Arts Center box office from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Monday through Thursday and 90 minutes before showtime. Call 609-652-9000. Kate Burton was nominated for Tony Awards for her work in Hedda Gabler, The Elephant Man, and The Constant Wife. Additional Broadway credits include Spring Awakening, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, Jake’s Women, Wild Honey, Company, Some Americans Abroad, and Present Laughter. Her film credits include Big Trouble in Little China; The Ice Storm; Unfaithful; 2 Days in New York; Liberal Arts; 127 Hours; Where'd You Go, Bernadette?; Our Son; and Dumb Money. On television, her appearances include multiple Law & Orders, Empire Falls, Rescue Me, Veep, Grimm, Modern Family, Supergirl, Perfect Harmony, Homeland, Charmed, 13 Reasons Why, Inventing Anna, The Dropout, Bosch Legacy, The First Lady, Bull, FBI, and Emmy nominations for Scandal and Grey's Anatomy. Burton has directed at the LA Philharmonic and MFA students at USC and Brown, where she is a Professor of the Practice. Upcoming projects include Violent Ends, The Surrender, and the new Netflix show Ransom Canyon. Burton is on the council at Actors Equity Association, an Emeriti trustee at Brown University, an ambassador of the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, and the family trustee for The Richard Burton Center for the Study of Welsh History at Swansea University.
Colby Minifie currently stars on the television series The Boys. She has appeared on Broadway in The Pillowman, Long Day’s Journey Into Night, and Six Degrees Of Separation; Off-Broadway in Epiphany, Punk Rock, Close Up Space, Landscape of the Body, and The Dark at the Top of the Stairs. Her film and television credits include Fear the Walking Dead, Gen V, Law & Order, Glee, Nurse Jackie, The Blacklist, The Michael J. Fox Show, Black Box, Deep Powder, Camilla Dickinson, The Greatest, The Winning Season, Don’t Think Twice, Paterno, Submission, The Super, An Actor Prepares, Radium Girls, Madam Secretary, Dietland, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Marvel’s Jessica Jones, I’m Thinking of Ending Things, and Homebody. Minifie is thrilled to continue to work with Selected Shorts.
Zach Grenier received a Tony nomination for Moisés Kaufman’s 33 Variations for his performance as Ludwig van Beethoven. He’s known on television for portraying David Lee on CBS’s The Good Wife and its spin-off on Paramount+ The Good Fight, Mayor Feratti on Ray Donovan, and Kenton on Hulu’s Devs. Additional credits include the films She Said, Fight Club, Zodiac, Ride with the Devil, Twister, and the television series Law & Order, Deadwood, Touching Evil, and 24. His favorite stage role is Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman, which he played at the Pittsburgh Public Theater.
