Princeton Public Library Events for June 2022

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Princeton Public Library seeks to engage, inspire, educate and unite everyone in their diverse community. They offer a myriad of events and educational programs each month.  Here is a look at the library's events for June 2022.

Tech: How to Get Photos Off Your Phone - Wednesday, June 1, 10:00am-11:00am. Discover the myriad of options for saving and storing photos taken on a mobile device. Via Zoom. Register through the events calendar at princetonlibrary.org.

Drop In and Knit - Wednesday, June 1, 15 - 11:00am to noonJoin us for a virtual social gathering of knitting and sharing on the first and third Wednesdays of the month, via Google Meet. Register through the events calendar at princetonlibrary.org.

English Conversation Group; Wednesday, June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 - 4:00pm-5:30pm; Monday, June 6, 13, 20, 27 - 7:00pm-8:30pm; Thursday, June 16, 23, 30 - 1:30pmPractice your English-speaking skills with others during conversations facilitated by a volunteer via Google Meet. Chess Workshop Series for Youth - Wednesday, June 1, 22 - 7:00pm-8:00pm. This virtual series is for advanced beginners and intermediate players, ages 6 through 12. Register through the events calendar at princetonlibrary.org.

Community Listening Session: Help Plan the Library’s Future - Wednesday, June 1, 7:00pm-8:30pm. Join us to share your views on how the library can best support the community. Via Zoom. Register through the events calendar at princetonlibrary.org.

Baby Storytime - Wednesday, June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 - 10:30am-11:00am. Stories, songs, rhymes, fingerplays and movement for children up to 24 months, accompanied by an adult. Registration is not required but spaces are limited due to room capacity. Story Room

Storytime! - Thursday, June 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 - 10:30am-11:00am. This interactive, in-person story time features books, songs, rhymes, fingerplays and movement for children 2 years and up, accompanied by an adult. Registration is not required but spaces are limited due to room capacity. Story Room

Princeton Festival Artists Round Table - Thursday, June 2 - 7:00pm-8:00pm. The Princeton Festival Guild invites anyone curious about what goes into putting on an opera to this round table discussion. Register through the events calendar at princetonlibrary.org. Community Room

Virtual Job Seekers Session: Answering Tough Interview Questions - Friday, June 3, 9:45am. Career coach Ed Samuel presents on preparing for - and answering - tough interview questions. No registration required. Visit psgofmercercounty.org for connection details.

Princeton Community Pride Picnic - Friday, June 3, 5:00pm-7:30pm. Celebrate Princeton's LGBTQIA+ community with music, games, activities, giveaways and more at this family-friendly event featuring local nonprofits and community groups. Rain Date is June 5. Princeton Shopping Center

Outdoor Storytime at Princeton Shopping Center - Tuesday, June 7, 14, 21, 28 - 10:30am-11:00am, weather permittingThis interactive event features books, songs, rhymes and movement for kids of all ages, accompanied by an adult. No registration required. Please bring your own blanket.

Tech: Ask the Mac Pros - Tuesday, June 7, 14, 21, 28 - 11:00am to 1:00pm; Wednesday, June 1, 8, 15, 3:00pm-5:00pm. Members of the Princeton Macintosh Users Group help resolve questions about Apple devices. Drop in at any time during this session. Technology Center

Mercer County Community ID - Tuesday, June 7, 14, 21, 28 - 4:00pm-7:00pm. All Mercer County residents are eligible for this photo ID card, which provides the cardholder's personal identifying information, medical risk factors and emergency contact information. Princeton Room

Pajama Storytime - Wednesday, June 8 - 7:00pm-7:30pm; Saturday, June 11, 10:30am-11:00am. Children and parents are invited to wear their favorite pajamas, slippers and bathrobes for a special edition of Pajama Story Time. Story Room

Fiction Book Group - Thursday, June 9, 10:30am. The group discusses "Confessions of the Fox" by Jordy Rosenberg at the Princeton Shopping Center. A limited number of chairs will be available on site. In the event of rain, the meeting will be moved to the second-floor Conference Room at the library. 

Black Voices Book Group - Thursday, June 9, 7:15pm. The group discusses “Another Brooklyn” by Jacqueline Woodson via Google Meet. 

Documentary: "Ahead of the Curve" - Thursday, June 9 - 7:00pm-8:45pm. This film is the story of one of the most influential women in lesbian history and the impact her work continues to have today. Part of the Pride Month Film Series. Community Room

Immigration Fair - Sunday, June 12 - 3:00pm-5:00pmGet one-on-one help with a variety of issues related to immigration. Community Room

Performance: “Among Trees II” - Sunday, June 12, 4:00pm-5:30pm. Professional musicians and actors present an evening of songs, scenes, poetry and more on the stage near Veblen House in Herrontown Woods. Rain date is Friday, June 17, 5:00pm.

Little Panda Storytime - Wednesday, June 29, 10:00am. Guest readers from YingHua International School share story time in Mandarin Chinese. For ages 3 and up, depending on Chinese proficiency level.
