(LINCROFT, NJ) -- The Monmouth County Park System is hosting its annual Creative Arts Festival on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Thompson Park (805 Newman Springs Road) in Lincroft. This celebration of the arts features more than 45 specially selected artists in a variety of mediums such as pottery, painting, jewelry, and more. The event encompasses the grounds of the Creative Arts Center and two beautiful historic barns. This family-friendly festival runs from 10:00am to 4:00pm and also includes live music, engaging art demonstrations and children’s art-based activities.
Outdoor musical performances include The Band of the Two Rivers, Zydeco Revelators, and Chuck Lambert. Indoor performances include Musicians on a Mission, Joe Frame, Jonathan Tea and Alan Gowa.
Art demonstrations include: Found object sculpture by Lisa Bagwell; Silk painting by Karin Trunz; Pysanky by Jennifer Santa Maria; and Throwing large pots by John Fossa.
Other demonstrations include pottery, bonsai, woodturning, and shibori indigo dying. Children are invited to contribute to the community mural and make crafts. The event will also feature three food trucks. Admission and parking for the festival are free.
