ren Releases “Shifted Perspective”

originally published: 06/23/2022

Flanders New Jersey native singer-songwriter Lauren Onufryk released her debut album Shifted Perspective in June under her stage name ren. Lauren graduated from Mount Olive High School and is a sophomore at the University of California Irvine (UCI). She wrote and recorded the EP in her dorm room between classes and studying.

Lauren has performed at various venues including The Bitter End in Greenwich Village, the Long Valley Brewery, and the Chester County 4-H Fair. She also has a background in musical theater as an alumni of MPAC’s Performing Arts Company and Papermill Playhouse’s Musical Theatre Conservatory. Shue currently attends the University of California Irvine where she is working toward a BA in Drama with a potential double major in English.

Throughout early 2022, ren released 3 original songs to streaming platforms which inspired the creation of her first full-length album, Shifted Perspective. Fully written and recorded by ren herself, the album features songs about starting a new life in a place that is unfamiliar and how these changes can mold identity. The album includes twelve tracks that highlight ren’s vocal, instrumental, and compositional abilities. She cannot wait for people to hear the album and gain insight into her perspective.

The album is available to stream on Spotify. You can follow ren on Instagram.
