(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- In celebration of legendary filmmaker Edward D. Wood Jr.'s 100th birthday, The ShowRoom, in partnership with Luxe & Shadows, will host a special 30th anniversary screening of Tim Burton's Ed Wood on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 7:30pm. A second screening will take place on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at 3:00pm.  The October 10th event will feature Father Evil, The Sinister Minister, as your ghoulish host for the night, adding to the festivities in true Ed Wood fashion.

Tim Burton’s Ed Wood (1994), starring Johnny Depp as the infamous director, was lauded for its unique storytelling and homage to Hollywood’s golden age of B-movies. The film won two Academy Awards: Best Supporting Actor for Martin Landau’s captivating portrayal of Bela Lugosi and Best Makeup for the stunning transformation of Landau into Lugosi. It also features an all-star cast including Sarah Jessica Parker, Patricia Arquette, and Bill Murray.

As an added bonus, Ed Wood ticket holders will receive complimentary admission to a screening of Wood’s most notorious cult classic, Plan 9 From Outer Space (1957), at 6:00pm on October 10th or 1:30pm on October 13th. Fans can enjoy both films in one day or mix and match between the two screening dates!
