(LINCROFT, NJ) -- Brookdale Community College's Performing Arts Center has announced Digging The Whole, a family-friendly play will run from December 5-8, 2024 in the Black Box Theater. Written by Mark Schaeffer and featuring music and lyrics by Rita Z. Asch, Digging The Whole tells the tale of Slag Heap, a soda-loving, TV-watching character who builds a home deep in the woods.
Slag Heap’s tranquil life is interrupted when he’s visited by Raccoon, Deer, Owl, and Oak Tree, who accuse him of crimes against nature, including littering and disturbing the peace. In this interactive play, these woodland creatures assume roles as judge, prosecutor, bailiff, and court clerk, while the audience is called to serve as the jury, ultimately deciding Slag Heap’s fate.
Recommended for children ages 4 to 10, this 50-minute show allows kids to engage fully by sitting on the floor around the stage, immersing themselves in the action. Don’t miss this charming production, perfect for families seeking an engaging theater experience!
