(NEWARK, NJ) -- Following last month's launch of a new weekly program schedule on 88.3FM. WBGO, Newark Public Radio, is excited to announce a new quarterly offering during the Saturday 8:00am-10:00am “Pop Up Programming” time slot. All Things Soul will be hosted by long-time WBGO supporter and listener, the former US Secretary of Homeland Security, Jeh Johnson. For his premiere show, Jeh’s first interview guest will be life-long jazz enthusiast, Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States.
All Things Soul will compliment WBGO's new Rhythm and Soul Weekend programming lineup, which includes the highly rated program, Rhythm Revue with Felix Hernandez, as well as WBGO’s archival blues programs like Portraits in Blue and Blues Break. Featuring an eclectic mix of classic R&B, vintage popular music, jazz ranging from the 1950s to the 2000s, All Things Soul will also feature various well known guests who will join Jeh to talk about their love of music and how that music has inspired their lives.
“Jeh’s love for WBGO and this music is well documented. His knowledge of the music, and passionate efforts to gather support for WBGO shows his commitment to the mission of Public Radio - to provide programming that celebrates the arts while educating the curious. All Things Soul will fit right in with our new Rhythm and Song Weekends lineup and will also feature some fantastic guests," said WBGO's Chief Content Officer, Stevan Smith, “The opportunity to host a show on WBGO will be like fantasy camp for me,” according to Jeh.
“All Things Soul” premieres Saturday, March 19 from 8:00am-10:00am on WBGO 88.3 FM and WBGO.org
