Actors Pocket Guide Launched To Help With Theater Management

originally published: 01/25/2022

Did you know that an average theater director sends up to 400 emails throughout the rehearsal process? With the help of the newly released Actors Pocket Guide you can create your show, invite cast and crew, share sheet music, track conflicts, send out rehearsal reminders, and assign the show tasks you need to make your production a success.

Actors Pocket Guide was created in 2018 when a Frustrated Theater Director: Nicole, and Technology Expert: Anatole, came together and decided to build their own platform to solve Organization, Preparation, and Communication Issues with Producing Theater.

"Ever since I read the book Cheaper By The Dozen as a child, I became obsessed with doing everything better," explained Anatole in a post on LinkedIn. "The father and mother of 12 worked tirelessly as a family and as efficiency consultants, looking for ways to improve their lives by simplifying repeatable processes and producing more output with less input.

"As the son of an extremely hard working single mother who just immigrated to this country, I quickly understood the value of hard work, the drive to improve, and also the value of doing more with less," continued Anatole. "This later turned into an obsession with automating & improving business processes, and quickly spilled over into Nicole’s life as a Producer and Teacher, producing shows in NYC & running a successful school in NJ."

"I quickly grew frustrated with Nicole (sorry love!) and her business partner Angelo’s frustrations regarding students being unprepared, being left off an email, or not having access to the people or information they need. I channeled my frustrations into helpful (annoying?) suggestions and demos of other apps, until we decided to take a stab at building our own."
