Full-throttle New Brunswick rock band The Cynz will follow their 2024 LP, “Little Miss Lost,” soon with a new album.
The forthcoming LP’s second single, “Heartbreak Time,” just dropped and is the Makin Waves Song of the Week.
As the Makin Waves Song of the Week, “Heartbreak Time” also can be heard between 6 and 8 p.m. on Feb. 28 on “Radio Jersey at ThePenguinRocks.com. If you miss it, you can tune in any time in the archives at The Penguin and Mixcloud.
Formed around the songwriting talents of Cyndi Dawson and Henry Seiz, The Cynz recall on “Heartbreak Time” the pop edge of Joan Jett and The Black Hearts with strong feminine lead vocals, harmonies, earworms and relatable subject matter about relationship struggles.
The tune takes the listener where “Little Miss Lost” left off with a story of love that is on the verge of ending but should be fought for. “Little Miss Lost” captured the attention of some radio stations as “album of the year.”
The single will be part of a new album to be released in the fall that brings us past Cyndi’s preadult life when she was on her own trying to stay safe in risky environments.
Her band mates also include bassist Dave U.Hall and drummer Pat Carpenter. Kurt Reil of The Grip Weeds produced, sang backup vocals, and mixed at House of Vibes in Highland Park.
