Classic Radio Road Show to Present "Blondie & Dagwood" and "My Favorite Husband"

Published by New Jersey Stage

originally published: 04/27/2023

Classic Radio Road Show is presenting “Blondie & Dagwood” and “My Favorite Husband” with performances May 26-27 and June 4, 2023 in Freehold, Navesink, and Aberdeen. All of the characters will be acted by a handful of talented actors. Sound effects will be performed by a Foley artist, manipulating props to create a soundscape. The cast includes: Duane Noch, Michael Bürgi, Sheldon Fallon, Laurie Noch, Roberta Fallon, and Donna Stiles.

In “Blondie”, Blondie effortlessly outsmarts a “used-up” car salesman while poor Dagwood struggles to keep up. In “My Favorite Husband”, Liz and George Cugat don’t have children….yet. However, George gets the mistaken idea that Liz is expecting when he finds the hidden baby booties that Liz has been knitting. Liz and George were originally voiced by Lucille Ball and Richard Denning in the late 1940s, before “I Love Lucy”. “Blondie” was originally played by Penny Singleton, and Dagwood was Arthur Lake.
