originally published: 12/02/2019

"Young Visions" On Display At Trenton City Museum At Ellarslie Until January 12(TRENTON, NJ) -- Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie presents "Young Visions" now through January 12, 2020 with the visions of ten emerging artists highlighted its galleries.  Young Visions highlights the interpretation of these young, creative individuals as they balance the line between traditional, industrial, and contemporary work.  Jennifer Rubin Garey is the Guest Curator.

Several of the artists have shown recently in Ellarslie Open 36 as up-and-coming artists to watch. Patrick Seufert was awarded the top prize in oils for Duel Extension and Cassaundra Flor won Best in Show Overall with her large, etching Aeolian Cityscape. Vincent Hawley will take over the Malloy Gallery with his large abstract paintings and sculpture. Maxine Sheaffer will fill the Holland Gallery with her hyper-detailed animal portraits. As young artists find their voice and establish their reputations in this challenging field, the Trenton City Museum is pleased to highlight their Young Visions.

Participating Artists include Cayla Belser, Dave Dimarchi, Cassandra Flor, Vincent Hawley, Greg Mazur, Patrick Seufert, Maxine Sheaffer, Matthew Timek, Megan Uhaze, and Nicolas Valenza.

“Young Visions highlights the dichotomy between traditional and commercial art represented through the interpretation of emerging artists. Working across a variety of disciplines, these artists engage in visual dialog within their own conceptual parameters. Meanwhile, they challenge the preconceived notions of what it is to be young and an artist,” explains Jennifer Rubin Garey, Guest Curator.
