Workshop on Writing a Book Slated at RVCC Library

originally published: 01/29/2018

(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- Area residents interested in learning more about book writing are invited to attend “So You Want to Write a Book,” a free workshop hosted by the Evelyn S. Field Library at Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg, Wednesday, February 21, from 7:00pm-8:30pm. The event, presented by New Jersey Authors Network (NJAN), will include a panel of published authors with experience working in such genres as historical fiction, fantasy, science fiction and Young Adult, as well as playwriting.

The authors will share their personal journeys to publication, focusing on such topics as how new authors can receive feedback; where to send submissions; and how to handle the perils, pitfalls and unexpected surprises that come with book writing.

A question-and-answer session with the audience will follow the presentations.

The Evelyn S. Field Library at RVCC will host a follow-up event in the spring, “I’ve Finished My Draft Now What,” April 5, from 7:00pm-8:30pm.

For additional information, contact Carina Gonzalez, RVCC Outreach Librarian, at [email protected]  or visit library.raritanval.edu/events/authorpanel.
