(OCEANVILLE, NJ) – Kick off summer right with a festival to stimulate all of your senses. On Sunday, June 7, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., the Noyes Museum of Art of Stockton University will hold its 3rd annual Unplugged Art & Music Festival. Participating musicians include Noise Museum, Nicolas Castillo, Hofenakus, ARGO, and Zebras and Bulls Fight Tonight! During the performances, visitors can enjoy live art demonstrations by regional artists, or take part in a group mural. Guests can also savor a refreshing variety of shaved ice called “Snow Ice” made by Cha-Yen.
Each band offers a unique sound, their music enhancing the visual enjoyment of the artwork on view in the Museum. Atlantic City band, Noise Museum, intrigues audiences with their scientist rock/experimental pop sound. Nicolas Castillo, of Mays Landing, is a one man show with his loop pedal and R&B, indie-pop style. Mays Landing trio Hofenakus belts out a mix of classic covers and originals with a heavy folk rock influence. ARGO, of Atlantic City, performs a gypsy-jazz and rock driven set that features fingerstyle guitar playing. Zebras and Bulls Fight Tonight! of Egg Harbor City, fuses punk, jazz, and psychedelic rock to achieve a totally new sound.
As the bands play, regional artists will create original artwork inspired by the live music. Included in the lineup is Paul Amaranto, of Bridgeton, who attempts to see the brighter side of life with his colorful abstracts. Working alongside Amaranto is Noyes Museum Associate Artist Member Diane Tomash, with her impressionistic paintings. Joe Rademan, associate artist of the Riverfront Renaissance Center in Millville, is an accomplished painter drawn to depicting landscapes and seascapes. Elisa Giacona, of Northfield, paints with acrylics and draws henna inspired designs on paper. Other participating artists include Sandra Brogan, Adele DiMedio, Margo Juliano, Dorothy Matteo, Winnie Witmer, and Maria Yony Lopez.
As visitors immerse themselves in the music, they can also indulge their palates with a refreshing Asian inspired dessert called “Snow Ice” prepared by Cha-Yen. “Snow Ice” is a cross between ice cream and shaved ice, and features soft ribbons of flavored ice topped with fresh fruits, syrups, and other exotic toppings.

The Noyes Museum of Art was founded in Oceanville, NJ, in 1983 to collect, preserve, and exhibit American fine and folk art, with an emphasis on New Jersey artists and folk art forms.
