(TAPPAN, NY) -- Joe D'Urso presents the 5th Annual Rockland-Bergen Music Festival on Saturday, June 23. The festival takes place in Tappan, New York on the borders of Rockland and Bergen counties. Sixteen artists will perform on two stages, raising funds for 15 non-profit organizations through D'Urso's vision of a musical event that combines great music and important causes. This year's featured artists include Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes, Steve Forbert, Joe Grushecky, Jeffrey Gaines, Jim Boggia's "Bruce Off Broadway", Joe Della & the Thieves, Anthony D'Amato, and Joe D'Urso & Stone Caravan.
"As we head into our fifth year of the Rockland-Bergen Music Festival, we keep fine-tuning what we have been told is a very laid back and enjoyable experience," said D'Urso. "The unique Masonic Park lends itself to the stripped down feeling of the whole weekend. This is a professional production while at the same time feeling like an extended family BBQ with lots of great musicians.
"We will once again have two stages of music this year with no overlapping sets so all in attendance can see every performance," continued D'Urso. "The stage on the field this year will be called the 'Glow-Seeger Stage' and it will be sponsored once again by Cannataro Park Avenue Financial and the stage in the Food/Beverage Court is the Mr. Lou/Stefan's Turning Point Stage."
In addition to the outdoor part of the festival during the day on June 23rd, D'Urso has once again added additional festival programming at The Turning Point on June 22-23 during the evening and a wrap up brunch at The '76 House on June 24.
This year, two rows of non-profit tents and tables will adorn each side of the entry to the park and will comprise "Active's Circle of Hope," presented by Active International. The non-profits are representative of the fabric of philanthropy and charity in Rockland and Bergen Counties.
"Our Festival mission statement reads: 'To bring great music to the beautiful areas of Rockland and Bergen Counties area while raising awareness and consciousness of many organizations that are doing great work in various fields of health and humanity and have them discovered and supported by music fans.' We realize that, unto itself, is unique among festivals and by improving the great talent we present each year, it has created a new type of festival in our area." explained D'Urso.
Organizations who will be on site include: Light of Day, Why Hunger, People to People, Dan Sullivan Foundation, Hi-Tor Animal Care Center, Habitat for Humanity, Homes for Heroes, Camp Venture, Penguin Plunge, V.C.S. - Volunteer Counseling Services, Sunrise Day Camp, Meals on Wheels, and South Orangetown Ambulance Corp.
