(NEWARK, NJ) -- The City of Newark's Government Access TV Station, NWK-TV, will debut "Taste of Newark," a restaurant series spotlighting Newark eateries beginning on Tuesday, March 28, at 10:00am. The show is a project of the Office of Communications and will seek input from Newark residents for program content, based on their favorite eating spots.
"The City of Newark has been at the epicenter of exceptional culinary offerings in the state for quite some time," Mayor Baraka said. "With hundreds of eateries - including food trucks, food stands, and dessert carts - we offer a taste of cultures from every continent. This program will allow viewers to the chance to explore the wide range of cuisines that are found in our City."
The first episode of "Taste of Newark" features Mompou, a Spanish tapas restaurant in the East Ward (Ironbound), and Omar's Café, a Cuban dining location in the North Ward. The show will explore restaurants in each of the City's five wards.
Show will air on NWK-TV Channel 78 (Cablevision) and Channel 28 (Fios).
