
(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- The public is invited to attend a dinner and comedy show at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) featuring HBO’s Def Comedy Jam comedian Alex Babbitt, Wednesday, March 27 from 7:00pm-9:00pm. The program, which is appropriate for mature audiences ages 18 and older, will be held in the Bateman Center, 2nd floor, at the College’s Branchburg campus.
The evening will begin with dinner and non-alcoholic “mocktails” starting at 6:30pm, sponsored by RVCC’s HOPE (Health Oriented Peer Educators) Club.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to SAFE in Hunterdon, a local non-profit organization. The group’s mission is “to cultivate safety, empowerment and healing in an alliance with the adults, teens and children affected by domestic and sexual violence while mobilizing the community to promote social change that will reduce power-based violence, control and oppression.”
The event is being sponsored by RVCC’s Student Life Activities and Planning (SLAP) Board, a student-led events planning organization. Those attending the dinner and comedy show are requested to donate tissue boxes and bottled water. Monetary contributions to SAFE in Hunterdon also are appreciated.
Tickets, at $10 each, include admission to both the dinner and comedy show and can be purchased at the door with a check or cash. Checks should be madepayable to RVCC, with SLAP Comedy Show & Benefit noted on the memo line.
RVCC’s SLAP Board is responsible for planning events and other activities for the College’s students, staff and the community. The group’s mission is to provide diverse, co-curricular, meaningful, educational, social, cultural-based and fun programs and activities that enrich the student experience. Annual events include the RVCC Spirit Day, themed Spring Picnics, the Halloween Bash and Benefit, and an MLK Read-In.
