(LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- From March 24-March 29, Roxey Ballet invites the community to experience dance with the popular In-The-Studio event series. The lineup includes Beer and Ballet, Tutus and Tiaras, and Brown Bag Ballet.
"Roxey Ballet is all about Building Bridges using dance", says Mark Roxey, director of Roxey Ballet. "This is why community engagement and our In-Studio Series is so vitally important to us. We are always looking for ways to engage our community, and expose them to the beauty that dance performance and human interaction can provide".
"Beer and Ballet"
Enjoy ballet with a side of craft brews! "Beer and Ballet" is a 2-hour event open to adults ages 21 and over. Participants will watch professional dancers in a warm-up class and rehearsals while tasting local beer. "Beer and Ballet" offers a behind-the-scenes look at Roxey Ballet's Main Stage performances.
On March 24th, "Beer and Ballet" will allow audiences will get an inside look at the collaboration process as Mark Roxey creates brand new, never-before-seen choreography for "Carmina Burana", a partnership with Princeton Pro Musica and Princeton Girlchoir.
"Tutus and Tiaras"
On March 19, "Tutus and Tiaras" will be presented to young, aspiring ballerinas. They will listen to a famous ballet story, create their own tiara, play dance games, and watch a professional ballerina perform. A special "Tutus and Tiaras" on April 30th will feature "Cinderella", allowing children to decorate their own glass slipper while listening to the classic fairy tale.
"Brown Bag Ballet"
Wednesday, March 29th, at Roxey Ballet. Seniors, groups, and individuals are invited to bring a brown-bag lunch and spend the afternoon with Roxey Ballet for our "Brown Bag and Ballet" series. Take a behind the scenes look at the creative process that goes into Roxey Ballet's repertory works, engage in conversations with the dancers, and get a preview of upcoming productions.
